Glass bricks, concrete, steel
cm 320 x 380
A wall of glass bricks blocks the border of the park. Due to its transparency, each inner wall is also an outer wall, which embodies the opposing possibilities of exclusion and safe-guarding between spaces and people. Borders are conceived by people, the perspective on the land “over there” is connected to the view on the people on the other side. Our mutual perception will never match. The positioning is strongly influenced by the course of the sun: the sun rises with the view through the glass wall outside the park, and sets again on the other side. The joints of the glass blocks work as a grid in the view to sharpen the attention it takes to decipher the abstract image on the other side.
